Introduction

The windfarm consists of 60 Vestas V80-2.0MW turbines, totalling 120MW capacity.

The windfarm consists of 60 Vestas V80-2.0MW turbines, totalling 120MW capacity. It is located in the North Sea approximately 23 km west of the Egmond aan Zee, in the Netherlands. The wind farm was developed by a Eneco and Econcern, and took 7 years to build, although the construction phase only took 2 years starting in 2006. The main contractor for the construction was Van Oord NV. The wind farm is connected by a 28km 150kV export cable landing in Wijk aan Zee. Annually it provides electricity for roughly 90.000 Dutch homes. The stated project costs were EUR383 million.
